Our service begins with worship, led by a band. Most people stand during this time, however, there is complete freedom to be seated if you prefer. The words of all of the songs are projected onto a screen. Our hope is that you’ll hear songs you know or can relate to, even if you haven’t been to church before.
Like most churches we take an offering in our service. If you are a guest, please do not feel obligated to participate, as this is intended for those who consider Evangel their church home.
As our guest, we only ask that you take a few moments to complete our Communication Card which is found in the pouch on the back of the chairs. The Communication Card is where you can request information, ask for prayer, let us know your thoughts, or just indicate your presence with us. In any case, our church leaders pray for each of the prayer requests every week.
You won’t be asked to stand or raise your hand (or anything else embarrassing) just because you’re new. Nor will you have to recite anything or kneel at certain times during the service.
Evangel provides practical Bible messages that help you deal with real life issues. Pastor Stan preaches from the New American Standard Version, but please feel free to bring whatever version of the Bible you use. We’ll even give you a handy note pad to outline with the main points and Bible verses in the in the sermon. What you learn on the weekend, you’ll be able to use during the week.
Don’t feel that you have to hurry out the door. Give our friendly church family a chance to meet you, and don’t forget to pick up your children from Evangel Kids before you leave! Join us in the lower auditorium and enjoy a coffee, homemade baking, once a month (dates to be announced) cooked meal, and most of all fellowship with friends and meet someone new.
At Evangel Community Ministries, we focus on the heart more than the outward appearance. When you come to our weekend service, you will find people dressed in a wide variety of styles from as casual as jeans or shorts, to as formal as suits and dresses. However, most people find themselves somewhere in the middle–most often wearing business casual.
At Evangel we use Five Pillars to represent the biblical priorities for this ministry. These five pillars are equal in emphasis and importance. Just as pillars are critical to a well-constructed building, so are our pillars essential for the spiritual life and health of our members.
Pillar 1 To proclaim the authority of God’s Word without apology.
Pillar 2 To lift high the name of Jesus Christ in worship.
Pillar 3 To share the Good News message of Jesus Christ with boldness.
Pillar 4 A firm belief in the power of prayer.
Pillar 5 Creating a community of believers.
